A Dedication for The King

IJSO, Bali - Participants of International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) 2016 from Thailand have given their best for their country. Furthermore, those junior high school students apparently also dedicated their achievement in IJSO 2016 for the late King of Thailand, Bhumibol Adulyadej.

In that prestigious event, Thailand has successfully won 1 gold medal and 5 silver medals. They revealed that they have never dreamed or even imagined that they would get any medal. Unexpectedly, they were capable to perform their best that all member of Thailand delegates brought a medal home.

"We had done as much preparation as possible for quite long. But we did not dare to boast that we will get any medal. This is unbelievable, we are very proud, especially toward our late King. All of these medals we will dedicate them for him," said Pakaphol Thadawasin, the gold medalist of IJSO 2016 from Thailand.

It is true that for participants and leaders from Thailand, the King was a beloved figure. That is why from the beginning of the competition, to the cultural night, until the end of the closing ceremony, the picture of the famous late king was always with them for motivation and inspiration.

"Our king had dedicated his life for the people of Thailand. Furthermore, our coming to this international event is because of him.  We got these medals because of his legend has motivated us. He is our motivator. He was the best king ever,"  said Pakaphol - Thadawasin.

Other participants from Thailand, beside Pakaphol - Thadawasin, are 5 students who successfully obtain silver medals. Their names are 5 Teerissara - Sornwanee, Cherfah Watthanayonkit, Pichamon Assawaphadungsit, Sorawit Udomphonchaicharoen and  Pattarut Summapita.

They were determined, that with these medals as their self-recognition, they will live up to their dream and keep presenting their best result for their country. This is a way to show their devotion to their country and their respect to their king, who had given many services to the people of Thailand during his life.
